Christian Approaches to Salvation

This course from the Diocese of Richmond explores the question, “What does it mean to be saved?” from both Catholic and Protestant viewpoints. Drawing upon the scriptures, the early church fathers, the catechism of the Catholic Church, and various texts from the Reformation, Dr. Patricia E. Clement, D.Min explores the question “Are you saved?,” which was first posed to her by a Protestant guest speaker in her Catholic high school religion course.

The goal of this course is “Faith Seeking Understanding.” Exploring all viewpoints, this course seeks to deepen our understanding of our Catholic beliefs and to learn with love and without judgment about our Christian differences with our non-Catholic sisters and brothers.
